Named best of the month by New York Post!

A deliciously twisty and suspenseful novel from the #1 internationally bestselling author of The Girl in the Mirror, about a desperate young woman and the manipulative wealthy couple who will stop at nothing to ensure their worst nightmare becomes a dream come true.

"A gonzo thrill ride; the audacious Rose Carlyle kept me riveted and guessing.... I loved it and you will, too." —Joshilyn Jackson, New York Times bestselling author

They're the perfect couple. They have the perfect plan. All they need is the perfect victim.

Julia and Christopher Hygate have the picture-perfect life: gobs of money thanks to their lucrative shipping enterprise and an estate on a secluded island.

When they meet Eve Sylvester, they know she is the exact person they should hire to be their child's nanny. Eve doesn't have any living relatives, she's lost touch with her friends, and her partner is out of the picture. Best of all, she's expecting a baby.

Eve thinks she's landed the greatest gig—previously desperate and penniless, now she'll live like a queen and have a promising future for her daughter.

But the job seems too good to be true. Why would the Hygates hire Eve if she has no prior nannying experience? Why must Eve stay out of sight? And what's with the mysterious yachts coming in and out of the Hygates' private marina?

It's too late to ask questions, though, Eve is already in far too deep.

Set against the backdrop of a remote island, an endless stream of secrets, and unbelievable wealth, No One Will Know is a propulsive, seductive novel of suspense that shows the terrible consequences of shocking greed, staggering lies, and fatal mistakes.

Pregnant, homeless, and alone, 24-year-old Eve Sylvester is faced with a desperate future when a meeting at her dead fiancé’s gravesite offers a chance too glorious to refuse: nannying for the wealthy Hygate family on their secluded Tasmanian island. Upon arriving, she is quickly hidden from sight before the truth about Julia and Christopher Hygate’s generosity is revealed: they are a childless couple who want to raise her baby and give it a near-perfect life. In return, they offer to hire her as the nanny, allowing her to care for her child. The psychological warfare in Eve’s mind—whether she is there voluntarily or trapped—never eases, creating a tension that keeps readers vigilant on every page. The environment may be one of gentle seas, picturesque islands, enormous homes and soft furnishings, but Eve is held captive by her circumstances. While readers may doubt her choices, the real threat of homelessness and a solitary, painful life is not to be dismissed, especially considering Eve’s upbringing in foster care. With a heightened atmosphere and pages so taut readers may stumble into the next reveal, Rose Carlyle’s No One Will Know is a simmering thriller for readers who enjoy Paula Hawkins, Petronella McGovern, and Carlyle’s debut, The Girl in the Mirror, along with authors such as Liane Moriarty whose captivating characters explore the complexities of family.

In her second novel, Rose Carlyle brings readers a thriller with various twists. Eve Sylvester, a 24-year-old vagabond, is hoping to start a new life with her lover in Sydney, Australia, after having sailed with him across the Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately, a car crash brings an end to that plan and now Eve is pregnant, alone, broke, and homeless. In an improbable turn of events, Eve meets rich couple Julia and Christopher Hygate on (fictional) Breaksea Island, and they offer to adopt Eve's baby and offer her employment as nanny to the child. Eve begrudgingly agrees and thus sets in motion years of gaslighting and manipulation, along with the mystery of the truth behind the adoption. There is so much happening in this book, with multiple time skips, that the plot ends up feeling far-fetched. Eve is frustratingly naive, the scenes are abruptly transitioned, and the dialogue is often awkward. However, the story is fast-paced and will keep the reader interested until the end, as Eve finally pushes for answers and fights to protect her child.
